Settle Golf Club is a 5 minute drive from Stockdale House.
Set amongst dramatic limestone scenery, it is reputed to be one of the finest 9 hole couses in the country.

Settle has a traditional open air market in the market square on Tuesdays.  There are also farmers' markets at weekends.

The Gamecock Inn at Austwick is a very scenic 20 minute walk from Stockdale House - and a 40 minute stagger back!  The Gamecock has a fine reputation for its food.  Booking may be necessary at busy times.
